This is our first Seasonal Theme that introduces a new activity to the game. In Season 26, we introduce the Echoing Nightmare. Will these Nephalem heed the whispers of atonement of fallen heroes and survive their echoing nightmare? Or will they be forever trapped, becoming just another fallen Nephalem? Only time will tell. The souls of heroes defeated in the eternal struggle against evil call for aid! Astute Nephalem will listen to the petrified screams of the dead, and find themselves attuned to the last agonizing moments of the departed. We are expecting this update to be released on April 12. Read on to learn more about the season theme and balance changes coming in Patch 2.7.3. Season 26 will begin on April 15, at 5PM (PDT/CEST/KST) shortly after our next Diablo III update. See the following post for the exact times for each region. Update on 8/5: Season 26 will be ending on August 21 at 5pm PDT. Stay tuned for updates and details on Season 27 here. It’s unclear what its release window is, but as soon as we find out more information, we’ll be sure to let you know.Update on 8/21: Season 26 has ended. While Blizzard is hard at work on Diablo III updates, it’s been revealed that Diablo 4 is in development, as well. Season 18 of Diablo III is expected to begin sometime in the fall/winter of 2019, although it does not have an official release date. This is a great way to gain valuable feedback right from the community. In addition, Blizzard will continue to implement the PTR and feedback system, wherein players can test future patches to ensure everything is running smoothly. The blog post notes that Blizzard will aim to be more communicative with its fans and will continue to give updates just like it has with this most recent post. It was also revealed that these updates will release in a staggered fashion, giving the community a reason to keep checking back in.
